Vision and Mission-
GD Goenka Public School aims to be the Center of Excellence in Education where the seeds of the all-round development of the children are sown at an early age.
It aspires to be an organization that creates a stress-free environment for nourishing each child holistically, thereby enabling them to be competent, confident, and enterprising citizens of character, attitude, and passion who will promote global harmony and peace. Students are trained at a very young age towards incorporating a sense of responsibility, loyalty, team spirit, and healthy competition to become graceful and dignified personalities.
GD Goenka works for:
Building trustworthy relations with all.
Value addition for all stakeholders.
Making GD Goenka a ‘Learners’ organization’ through relentless awareness, reflection, and analysis of the current reality.
Creating role models of character, competence, and commitment.
Creating an environment where all Goenkans understand, believe in, and work for the collective mission.
The greatest human quest is to know what one must do in order to become a human being. ‘Atmanam Shudhi’ is our logo, a great oracle of Upnishad which means discovering your sacred self. Here in GD Goenka, through yoga, meditation, sports, and all its working methods and processes, we create the habits of self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation, and selflessness which prove stepping stones in their ultimate journey of becoming enlightened human beings.
There is a great saying: Success is the sweet result of hard work combined with the desire to excel and unfailing dedication. We always believe in it.
Infrastructure
As many of you may know, this School was established 3 years back with an aim of providing quality education on a global standard. It was started in a building with just 100 students. In these 3 years, it has progressed in leaps and bounds. Today it proudly stands in front of you with a grand infrastructure with 400+ students.
The school building is equipped with all modern facilities, including:
Smart Classrooms
Labs for different subjects
Library and resource rooms
Music, dance, and art rooms
Uninterrupted power and water supply
CCTV surveillance
Facilities for Indoor and Outdoor games
“At the heart of effective technology integration, technology offers opportunities to be more actively involved in the learning experience.” — Vanessa Vega, Eutopia Research Analyst
Thus, keeping in mind the significance of technology for gaining knowledge in the modern classrooms, [……..] more Smart Boards have been installed. With this installation, we have one Smart Board for every class to provide access to e-learning.
Literacy & Library Developments
“Reading makes a full man; Conference a ready man; and Writing an exact man.” — Francis Bacon
“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.” — George R.R. Martin
The school understands fully the importance of reading for the students as also the requirements on the part of the school to ensure that students eagerly indulge themselves in the act of reading.
The school library has been renovated with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
It has been made air-conditioned, and more than 1,557 books have been added to inculcate reading habits among students.
In every class, reading has not only started to be a much more frequently executed activity over the session but has also seen much evolution in terms of quality.
The school has also modified the approach towards the meritorious sections in a very systematic manner. Particular efforts have been undertaken to involve the students in Higher Order efforts to face challenges bigger than Summative assessments. Students have been familiarized with and are being prepared for different competitive exams.
Milestones & Initiatives
This year marks a significant milestone as our school successfully completed the CBSE affiliation process, aligning our academic framework with national standards of excellence.
Our notable collaborations and activities include:
The LoIQids Mental Aptitude Olympiad: A competition for school children from KG to grade 9 assessing logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, conducted in association with Techfest, IIT Bombay.
SOF Examinations: We joined the league of schools organizing the SOF Examinations in all subjects.
Vrikshabandhan: An initiative under the Ministry of Forest Conservation where we received a certificate of appreciation. Students were encouraged to adopt and nurture plants, promoting environmental awareness.
Green Olympiad: Organized under the Ministry of Conservation, which further strengthened our students’ understanding of environmental sustainability and conservation practices.
Youth Awareness Programme: Conducted under HQ PUSPA, aimed at developing awareness, responsibility, and leadership qualities among students.
Workshops: Privileged to host several workshops organized by CBSE and our native branch, Vasant Kunj.
The list of achievements and activities is indeed extensive; it might take me the whole day to describe them all, so I would like to give myself a little break and move ahead.
Academic Achievements
The world of the classroom and of learning has undergone both visible and invisible changes. We need to accept certain shifts: from an emphasis on providing content to providing skills, from looking at the classroom as the only point of learning to accepting that learning happens across life spaces, and navigating the shifting equation in the relationship between teachers, students, parents, and children.
“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” — Margaret Mead
To enable this, our motto of Knowledge, Imagination, and Innovation is encouraged through a holistic approach. “TO MOTIVATE THE WEAK, TO ADDRESS THE AVERAGE AND CHALLENGE THE GIFTED” is the teaching vision of our school.
Current trends of teaching and learning necessitate a regular updating of teachers. Our teachers, including myself, constantly strived to stay updated by attending various virtual seminars, workshops, and training programmes.
Co-Curricular & Sports Activities
“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!”
The school looks at each learner as a unique “whole person” with inherent genius, special capabilities, and unlimited potential. Academic excellence remains the cornerstone of our institution, and this year our students once again demonstrated outstanding performance across various domains.
